Suitable for all staff, with the option to focus specifically on teaching assistants.
Motor Coordination Difficulties: Effects on Classroom Participation and Strategies for Support
This workshop will provide an overview of motor coordination difficulties, including DCD/Dyspraxia and their links with ADHD and ASC, and explore the impact on classroom participation. Participants will learn strategies to support skill development and implement learning techniques such as Goal-Plan-Do-Check and backward chaining to promote skill acquisition. The session will include practical, hands-on activities.
Sensory Circuits
This workshop will provide an overview of sensory processing and observable behaviours that may indicate a sensory need. Explore the rationale behind sensory circuits and provides guidance on how to set up and run them as part of the school routine. Participants will engage in interactive brainstorming and practice activities using resources commonly found in schools. Suitable for teaching assistants and staff who may be running sensory circuits.
