You will:

• Support children and young people directly – delivering individual and group therapy programmes, communication activities and therapeutic interventions planned by our Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

• Work across different school environments – supporting pupils in mainstream schools, specialist provisions and SEMH settings, with opportunities to work with a wide range of communication, interaction and sensory needs.

• Create and use resources – designing, making and adapting practical resources to support pupils' communication, participation and access to learning.

• Contribute to whole-school approaches – supporting Universal, Targeted and Specialist approaches and contributing to the wider aims of the school's therapy service.

• Work as part of a clinical team – regularly working alongside Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other Senior Therapy Assistants, with support and guidance when needed from our Senior Therapy Assistant Manager.

• Keep learning – accessing regular in-house and external CPD and developing your knowledge and skills across speech, language, communication and occupational therapy.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience: Applicants will ideally have experience working alongside a Speech and Language Therapist. This may have been in a formal Speech and Language Therapy Assistant role, or through working alongside a therapist in a school or clinic setting, for example as a Communication Champion or Teaching Assistant. Experience delivering speech and language interventions, or supporting children and young people with their communication, is desirable.

• Skills: Confident working independently as well as part of a team, with good organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Drive: A genuine interest in supporting children and young people, with enthusiasm for developing your skills and contributing to the wider therapy team. Our team works across different school settings throughout the week; therefore, this role requires adaptability and a willingness to travel to meet the needs of the service.

Term time only salary, starting at £26,055 (35 hours p/week). There is 1 full time post or several part time posts available (minimum 3.5 days per week). Primary, secondary, mainstream and special provision opportunities, as well as Full and Part time positions available (minimum of 3.5 days p/week).
