Vacancy for Occupational Therapist and Service Development Lead

WMSLT is a thriving independent practice working within educational settings in Birmingham and surrounding areas. We are a team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Senior Therapy Assistants and admin support, providing bespoke therapy services to mainstream and specialist primary, secondary and higher education settings.

Due to high service demands, we are currently recruiting to our Occupational Therapy team at WMSLT. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and collaborative school-based service, supporting children and young people across a variety of educational settings.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people within paediatric and school environments, including supporting students with a range of neurodiverse conditions that impact motor coordination, sensory processing, and developmental skills.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reflective OT who is excited to grow their leadership skills and contribute to ongoing service development. You will have weekly protected time to focus on this work. Alongside the Management Team, you will:

·       Help shape OT frameworks, pathways and guidance for school‑based delivery

·       Promote high‑quality, neurodiversity‑affirming practice across varied educational settings

·       Support the ongoing development of universal, targeted and specialist OT provision within our educational settings

·       Contribute to our growing in-person and on-line school training offer

·       Provide supervision, peer support and opportunities for joint working

·       Play an active role in service planning and developing team CPD schedules


Our team works across multiple school settings throughout the week; therefore, this role requires adaptability and a willingness to travel to meet the needs of the service.
